Give them the serial number. If you've gotten you're car tuned and not just ran an of the shelf tune, you probably had to tell your tuner what you're SN was so they could make a tune that could be loaded on your AP. The easiest way to identify an Accessport is by it's 10-digit serial number on the back. An SUB-001 Accessport will have a serial number that begins with 111, the SUB-003 Accessports have a serial number that begins with 131. As was previously mentioned, the SUB-001 Accessport is compatible with. 11) AccessPORT Serial Number (from the back of your AccessPORT) Where are the base calibrations? Thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone here was thinking of buying an AccessPort with the hope of tweaking their own tunes, as I did. Cobb has removed Accesstuner Race, the free version of their tuning software previously accessible to all AccessPort owners, and has announced that the new version will be locked behind a paywall - a basic online training course offered by a third party - which will cost approximately $130US. In Cobb's announcement, they stated that ATR would remain free, but this is obviously not the case since they've completely removed the ability to download the previous version and are requiring a paid training course for the updated version.

The cherry on top is that Cobb took ATR down from their website in May, promising a free update that would be finished by the end of June... then, after completely missing that deadline, they went ahead and announced the paywalled updated version due for the end of August, so nobody could even grab the install file for the old version.

This is a huge slap in the face to Cobb customers who want to tune their own cars. I, and numerous others, have attempted to contact Cobb regarding this and have been completely ignored, so I'm moving on to warning potential buyers away.

If you want an AccessPort to run a Cobb OTS map, do some research to determine if it's worthwhile for your car. I can tell you right now, their Stage 1 map for my '09 Spec.B is pretty bad, boost doesn't come in smoothly but jumps as your throttle position and RPMs increase, causing pretty severe lurching during moderate acceleration (WOT and gentle acceleration are both fine), and I've been getting the occasional backfire during upshifts as well. Without access to ATR, I can't tweak the tune at all unless I want to pay for a Protuner and dyno time, or wait for the ATR update and shell out for the mandatory training.

Thread on NASIOC in which the Cobb rep respond only to positive comments and questions, ignores all the criticism and negative questions about Cobb's decision, and then plays the martyr when one user gets frustrated with the complete radio silence and lashes out.

If you want to tune your Subaru, don't give Cobb your money; look into a Tactrix or some other solution and be sure to let Cobb know why you didn't buy their product.
