  Yeah, think I might give the 30 days a try. Am I right in thinking it don't automatically renew at the end of the 30 days? Or is that only for people who buy more days

  It won't renew automatically - not if you set up with Paypal anyways.
  They will send you an email when the account is about to expire and tell you that you need to renew it. Can't remember the exact length of time, but you get at least a couple of weeks after it expires before the account is deleted altogether.
  It's worth not letting it get deleted, even if you have no uploads, as every time you extend it you earn more points which eventually can be used for a month of free downloads.
  You should consider JDownloader if you use sites such as rapidshare a lot. It now integrates really well into Firefox via the Flashgot addon. It automates waiting times and usually cracks the Captcha on most sites (when you have no premium account). It will also store any number of premium accounts to automatically make use of any you have when it downloads. It also automatically unrars everything and you can even provide a password list which it will use to unrar passworded files. It also automatically joins then .001, .002, .003 etc files.
  It really saves a lot of time and effort!

  Anyone here a Premium member of RapidShare? Just wondering if you get a big speed boost over the free users? I'm on virgin 10mb, but download from rapidshare at 128kb or if I'm unlucky 33kb

  
  I am a premium member and to be honest cannot remember what sort of speeds I used to get when I used the free service. However now I am able to connect at rates which vary from 2mb to 6mb depending (I think) on the particular demand being made on the Rapidshare servers when I connect. So you will probably see a significant increase but be prepared for it not to necessarily max out your connection (I have an 8mb TalkTalk connection and 6mb is about the best I ever see anyway).
  The account does not automatically renew but it is worth keeping it going (it deletes itself automatically after 14 days) because you will earn points which can be exchanged for a month of free downloads as markrduk says.

  i have RS premium and have had for about a year.
  i can max out my connection, around 750kilo Bytes/s.
  i also use free download manager. this will establish several connections at once even if you're just downloading one file.
  for me it's worth it. but if you just buy a month then you've not lost much if you don't want it.

  I've had a premiun account for 3 years, with 20mb cable and Free Download Manager I get around a 2.4mb download speed.

  I have a RapidShare Premium account, and also use Virgin Media 10Mb. With that I download at 1.2MB/s. (Unless I hit my download quota of around 1GB, then the speed is reduced to about 200KB/s)
  I found having a RS Premium account very worthwhile.

  I can download at 1.2MB/s. I think it's a bit obvious that free users won't be able to max out their connections because if they could, what would be the point of getting a premium account?

  I definitely recommend rapidshare as it seems to be one of the most popular services and its been brilliant in my usage of it. Ive got Virgin's 50Mb broadband and it maxs my download rate 6.2MB/s
  The only downside it i use up my data quotas quite quickly so have to purchase more.

  Compared to the speeds (not to mention waiting times) you have to put up with using thier 'free' service, it's definitely worth it. You'll see a HUGE jump in speed, and as another poster said, get the download manager and you can really power through those files!
  Only problem for me is that they set a daily download limit of 5gb, which isn't much if you're downloading what I am!

  Learn to use torrents, and then join some decent trackers and you are set plus the speeds are better and it is way more organised

  a lot of people don't want to use torrents because they know that they can get in trouble for uploading. And all the decent private trackers require a 1:1 ratio. Some people would rather just pay than take the risk and spend half their lives uploading.
  As for way more organised, perhaps you need to learn how to use rapidshare.

  Besides, torrents depend very heavily on the speed of the uploader you're connected to, whereas RS files are just there, and as long as your own connection is fast enough, you'll get them much faster than torrents. That's been my experience anyway.
  As to the private trackers, I agree with flagpole. In addition to needing a 1:1 ratio (which is pretty hard to keep up unless you're actually uploading stuff yourself --- who knows if anyone's going to upload from the torrent you happen to want to download, even if it may be a few gigs?), private trackers, good ones, are notoriously hard to get into. One wanted the most incredibly detailed information from me before they'd even consider it --- bandwidth tests, computer details, tracker ratios etc. Too much trouble, say I!

  I use JDownloader with Rapidshare, it checks the links, downloads the files then unpacks them to the folder of your choice. All quite painless.

  Yeah I have jdownloader already! Its a great program, didn't like the auto extract, as I've got all the files downloading into one folder, so ended up a right mess with auto extract on

  Just ensure that you check replies to a certain file, more good replies usually means the file is OK.

  But if you're worried about a file OP - don't download it! Or, scan and install it on a virtual machine or backup system

Download from Rapidshare using proxy

I knew a lot of us here use Rapidshare to download and share a lot of stuff. It’s quite annoying when we were unable to download for a certain period after downloading a big file. What are going to be shared to day is how to download from Rapidshare using proxy so that you won’t have to face the 1 hour limitation problem again.

Remoteexec Rapidshare Premium Download

The programs that we need are a browser with ability to use proxy. I use Slimbrowser for two reasons:

• I don’t want to delete my Firefox or IE cache and cookies files
• It’s very lite and not a resource hogger

Steps/ How To:

• Download the browser from this location. Install it.
• Get a proxy list here. This trick requires the usage of proxy server to work. So don’t skip this step. Grab one proxy or more!
• This is how you are going to setup your proxy:

Click Tools > Proxies > Organize Proxies

2) In the Name field, enter something to identify your proxy, for example, Brazil #1

3) In the first address field, enter the proxy address you got from Proxy4Free, for example, 200.162.195.62

4) In the second address field, enter the proxy port, for example, 3128

5) If you want to set the entered proxy as the default proxy, then click the Set As Current Proxy button

6) Click OK to close the dialog box * If you want to add more proxies, repeat the steps above again and again.

After you have setup the proxy, copy and paste the Rapidshare download link to your browsers’ address bar, and wait for the Rapidshare page to launch.

In Rapidshare website, do the followings:

• Press enter and scoll down to bottom and click the FREE button
• Wait until the counter reaches zero or use any auto-reveal-link-utility - Copy paste the download link into your favorite download manager, for example, Flashget - Download the file happily

Troubleshooting

• Note that if Rapidshare gives you error like this;
• This IP is not allowed to use free anonymous services.or Your IP, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is downloading a file…
• It’s time to use another proxy!!! In Slimbrowser, go to menu, Tools > Proxies and select another proxy you already entered before

After downloading a file, don’t forget to clear your trace!

Rapidshare Premium Link

• In Slimbrowser go to menu Tools > Internet Options to open the Internet Options applet.
• Click both Delete Cookies and Delete Files button to wipe out all references to Rapidshare.
• If you need to download more files, repeat all steps from 1 to 6, and hopefully you’ll be happier than ever.

Tips:

• Do not choose proxy with port 80
• Avoid choosing proxies addresses beginning with 195 because some of them are slow.

Setup and Use PROXY with Firefox

This is a simple guide on how to use proxy with Mozilla Firefox Browser:

If you use proxies, you can:

a) download as many time you like using Rapidshare.de

b) Use Megaupload if your country slot is limited.

c) Enhance your privacy (no one can whois you)

d) Avoid hacker

e) Download faster (some proxies containe internet cache)

How to setup proxy:

Go to tools>option>general>connection

Enter setting like this screenshot: make sure that you change the proxy address.

Tips & Tricks: Rapidshare Upload

I used Rapidshare a lot, to share my files with you guys.

Here, I share my tips, on how do we upload in at Rapidshare server.

1. Compress the files into a rar or zip file, using a program such as Winzip and Winrar. If you’re trying to share audio files, do not directly upload mp3 files. It will be deleted by Rapidshare.

2. And again, if you’re trying to upload a clip and/or audio mp3 files, choose a discreet filename for the rar or zip file. Do not use the exact name of the artist or album in the title. Don’t use a naming convention like, file01.zip, file02.zip. Give a unique name.

3. Even though I don’t use a passowrd, you can give it a try. Inside a Winzip or Winrar, there’s an option to create a password for the zip file.

4. And even though I don’t upload mp3s, I’m using a proxy. Use a proxy when uploading, preferrably an anonymous server. This option is not at all so important, but is a good safety precaution for the “ip logging” claimed on the site. You can get the proxy list by typing at Google, “elite proxy“.

To sign up for the free Premium Account, you will need to always check the above link location to see any free RapidShare account on offer. It’s troublesome but luckily there are several tools that automate the process to check if there is any free Premium Account available and notify you immediately to sign up for it.

RapidCheck

RapidCheck is a tool that checks whether any free premium accounts are available at rapidshare.de. RapidCheck resides at Windows’ system tray area (notification area) and checks for free accounts at specified intervals. When free accounts detected, users will be notified with an information balloon tooltip. Users can then go to free account registration page by clicking on the balloon tool-tip.

CMS RS FAN will launch the free RapidShare Premium Account registration page when it detects there is one on offer. Other features been proxy support.

RapidShare Free Account Check is another program to check when the Registration for Free Premium Accounts is open, plus a lot of other features and enhancements compare with above two RapidShare Premium Accounts checking tools, including ability to automatic RapidShare Premium Account Registration. Among the features include:

* Timer (in minutes).
* Minimize to run in the system tray (notification area).
* When the Free accounts registration is open, an alarm with sound or popup or both will warn you.
* Tool to register from inside the program.
* Semi-Automatic ability to get and register many RapidShare premium accounts at once.
* Tool to get details for your free premium account, such as pass-login-valid until, details, enable users to use fake email address to register for premium account.
* Tool to get details for your premium account, such as expiration date, bandwith remaining and other.
